A crushing win for the Royal Challengers at home to begin their campaign. We say this every year but again, they're looking good to go all the way with the strength of their squad. Especially their batting. It's a line-up to die for. That concludes the fourth consecutive one-sided affair in the IPL, although this one thrilled with the quality of batsmanship on display. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Join us tomorrow for a mouth-watering clash between KKR and MI at the Eden Gardens. Till then, take care. Cheers!
AB: "Absolutely love playing here. The crowd always gets behind us. Pleasure batting with Virat and enjoyed myself. We love running between the wickets. I love batting at 3 and gives me time to read the game. I have been scratchy in the last few weeks, even in the nets I felt horrible. It comes down to what you do in the middle. The bowlers have played together for quite a few years. One or two guys, a guy like Shane Watson coming in and Milne, who has been injured for the last 2 years. All of a sudden it looks like a very good combination of youth and experience. Some very good signs for this season. Kolkata came back from 5 losses in a row, but it's never happened again. So it's important to start well. Hopefully we'll take this into the next few games."

Kohli: "We lost the toss. Didn't get to do what we wanted, see how the wicket played out. But it was a good effort to get close to 230. Bowlers did a very good job after they got off to a good start. Watson has that experience in the middle, and Warner's wicket helped. Rasool is a deceptive bowler, we saw in the nets that he was troubling the batters. His trajectory of the ball is such that he can fox the batsman with change of pace. Parvez was the standout bowler for me today. Chahal as well did a good job, he went for a few today but as long as he keeps getting me 2-3 wickets in the middle, it's fine. AB was fantastic and we've had a big partnership in Bombay [last season] as well. He took the pressure off me and started hitting the ball like only he can. Pleasure playing with him."
Warner got off to a flier and went bang, bang, bang at the top! But the problem was that it was all about him. He didn't find any support from the other end. Dhawan's off spin woes continued to hold him back, Henriques absolutely struggled to get the big hits away and it was too much to ask of the SRH captain to do it himself. Chasing such a huge total, it can't just be about one man. So once he perished in the 9th over after a sizzling 58 off 25, the game was done there and then. All the momentum stalled since that point, wickets fell in a clump, and RCB started imposing themselves. Reddy had a bit of fun towards the end, and so did Karn, but it was never going to matter.
Warner: "Won't take it away from them. It hurts when one bowler goes down. We bowled well in the first 3 overs. Tough ask for the boys to go out there and get 228. Nehra will be out for a couple of games, he's hurt his groin again. Mustafizur bowled well throughout the World Cup and he's definitely a find. We go out there and bat the way we know best. I would have liked a bit more tonight but we have to take the positives. We have a nice batting track in Hyderabad, and we have to execute well with the ball and not lose wickets in clumps."
